JELLY JELLY CAFE is a board game cafe chain
in Japan where you can play board games from all over the world whenever you want to play.

At JELLY JELLY CAFE, we have board games with simple rules for beginners and hardcore board games for enthusiasts. Everyone is welcome to come and enjoy board games, regardless of experience, age or gender. Come on by for some fun and a welcoming atmosphere!

What's the cafe like?

JELLY JELLY CAFE's maximum capacity is 30 people. On a usual weekday we are visited by students, with the evening catering more to couples and friend groups. Regardless of the time, make a booking and come share in the enjoyment! We have visitors from all over the world. You can choose and play board games straight from our large selection, or bring your own games from home.

Can I play games even if I don't speak Japanese?

Yes! We prepared a guide for finding language independent board games and booking a table if you don't speak any Japanese. You can find the guide here:

What if I get hungry or thirsty?

While we don't permit outside drinks, you're allowed to bring in food. You're also free to leave midway to buy food, bring it back, and resume your game while you eat. Please take good care of the games while eating. Each cafe has a drink menu to choose from and admission includes one free drink.

Can I come alone?

"I wanna play board games! But I'm alone." It's not a problem!

Can I buy board games?

You can buy some of board games at our cafes (at a 10% discount!), but please check out our online and in person stores for a wider assortment and the ability to collect your purchase from a JELLY JELLY CAFE location.

Student Pricing

The Day Time weekday fee is reduced to ¥1,200 when presenting a valid student ID card. This fee still includes a free drink.

What games do you have?

We have over 500 board games, including DiXit, Catan, Pandemic, Kakerlakenpoker, Geister, Doubutsu Shogi, Qwirkle, Liar’s dice, Stamps, Carcassonne, Domemo, Hey That’s My Fish!, Word Basket, Midnight Party, and more!

You can check what games we have at each location using our online board game search tool. You can filter for Language Independent games too - games where the components don't require you to speak any language. Please note you'll need to source a rulebook in your language by yourself, though you can often find them online. Set the "タグ" on the below website to "Language Independant". Please note the page is only available in Japanese.

Can I reserve a table?

You can reserve a seat or table for each store individually using our online reservation tool. Alternatively, you can also reserve by phone. When making a same day reservation, please call the store directly. Please note that you'll have to use Japanese to reserve via the phone.
